Currently TikTok is limiting the number of concurrent viewers on my live - unless I pay to promote it or the number of gifts or subscribers increase significantly. Here is the background
TikTok's Evolution
1) TT promises audiences to see live creators and live creators to get audiences - the world is a happy place
2) TT asks live creators to persuade followers to subscribe, to engage in head to head challenges to increase gift revenue and to advertise goods
3) TT creates rankings for followers to make the big gifters easily recognisable for targetting. TT pushes for everyone to have shops on TT to make it into shopping channel
4) TT uses the live algorithm to restrict the audiences of creators who don't make enough revenue and introduces paid promotion for lives. As the creators who sell and advertise goods are the ones who can afford to promote their lives TikTok becomes even more of a shopping and advertising platform
5) Creators who are starved of audiences leave, and audiences who didn't join TT to see shops and adverts also leave.
